Thomas G. Ivory

Thomas G. Ivory, 70, St. Augustine, died March 27, 2025 at UPMC Altoona. He was born July 18, 1954, in Altoona, son of the late Roy and Lucille (Strohmier) Ivory. Preceded in death by brother Phil. Survived by wife of 48 years, the former Luann Johnston, whom he married August 21, 1976, at St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Frugality, son Ryan (Heather DeVore) Ivory, granddaughter Jayden Ivory, brothers and sisters: Janet M. (Jack) Conrad, Daniel J. (Monica Kelly), Earl J. (Michele Molnar), Russell P. (Debora Sutton), Lisa A. (Bob) Busch, Connie J. (Paul) Cretin, Michael (Brandy), and Patty L. Stockley. Also survived by several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom enjoyed hunting and playing pool. He was a union painter for 27 years and belonged to Local 409, Greensburg. He also worked as a painting trade instructor for the Department of Corrections at Cresson, Pine Grove, Benner Twp. and Houtzdale prisons. Member of the Patton Sportsmen and St. Augustine Catholic Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, Rev. Robert Reese, Celebrant. Committal, St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 PM until 5 PM Sunday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St. Ashville, PA 16613.
